Benjamin Atkin

Benjamin Atkin has a strong background in software engineering with experience at various prestigious companies. Benjamin is currently working at Bodygram, Inc. as a Senior Software Engineer. Prior to this, they were a Senior Software Engineer at Google Japan from 2018 to 2023. Benjamin also held the position of Senior Software Engineer at Google from 2008 to 2018, where they worked on the development and improvement of the Monarch global-scale time series database and the disk layer for the Colossus storage system. Before joining Google, Benjamin worked as a Research Staff Member at NEC Laboratories America, Inc. from 2004 to 2007 and as a Research Intern at HP Labs in 2000.

Benjamin Atkin holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Computer Science from Cornell University, which they earned from 1998 to 2004. Prior to their PhD, they obtained a Bachelor of Science with Honours degree in Computer Science from Victoria University of Wellington from 1994 to 1997. In addition, they have obtained certification in Japanese Language Proficiency Test (N1) from The Japan Foundation in 2014.
