Ioannis Sapountzis

Ioannis Sapountzis is a seasoned professional with extensive experience at Boehringer Ingelheim since September 2014, currently serving as Corp. SVP and Global Head of Therapeutic Areas. Previous roles include Therapeutic Area Head for Inflammation, Corp. SVP and Global Head of Business Development & Licensing, and Global Head of Oncology Business Development & Licensing, where responsibilities encompassed global licensing activities for Oncology and leading cross-functional teams in evaluating opportunities from pre-clinical to marketed products. Prior to this, Ioannis served as Director of Global Research Networking from August 2011 to July 2014. Ioannis holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Organic Chemistry from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München and completed studies at Harvard University between 2004 and 2005.
