Vice President Bioprocess Development Biologicals at Boehringer Ingelheim

Jan Visser is a seasoned professional in the biopharmaceutical industry with extensive experience in bioprocess and pharmaceutical development. Currently serving as Vice President of Bioprocess Development Biologicals at Boehringer Ingelheim since July 2015, Jan is responsible for developing mammalian cell culture-based drug substance processes. Previous roles at Boehringer Ingelheim included Vice President of Pharmaceutical Development Biologicals and earlier as Vice President of Bioprocess Development Biologicals. Prior to this, Jan held leadership positions at Sandoz, overseeing global analytical characterization and technical development of biosimilars, and at Organon as Director of Small Scale Cell Culture & Development. Jan's career began at Unilever, where roles included Research Scientist and Project Manager focused on oral care and biological food processing. Jan holds a PhD in Microbiology and Enzymology from Delft University of Technology and an MSc in Microbiology from Utrecht University.
