Eric Wolvovsky is a seasoned meteorologist with extensive experience in environmental management and disaster response. Currently serving as Section Coordinator and Meteorologist at the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management since July 2010, Eric has developed a greenhouse gas emissions model to forecast impacts related to oil and gas activities and maintains an emissions inventory for permitted facilities. Concurrently self-employed since June 2010 as a freelance model, Eric collaborates with local artists to produce diverse creative works. Previously, Eric worked as a meteorologist and climatologist for USAID from May 2004 to July 2010, where contributions included supporting international programs focused on famine and flooding early warnings. Eric holds a Master’s degree in Development Management from The Open University and dual degrees in Geographic Information Systems and Meteorology from Penn State University.

The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, a bureau in the U.S. Department of the Interior, is the Federal agency that manages the nation's natural gas, oil and other mineral resources, and the development of offshore renewable energy on the outer continental shelf (OCS). The program is national in scope and is headquartered in Washington, D.C. Regional offices are located in New Orleans, Louisiana.; Camarillo, California, northwest of Los Angeles; and Anchorage, Alaska. A broad range of scientific, engineering and program management positions are required to keep BOEM at the forefront of offshore resource management and powering our nation.
