Lindy Nelson is an experienced environmental professional currently serving as an Environmental Protection Specialist (Detail) at the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management since May 2023. Previously, Lindy has held the position of Assistant District Manager - Resources in the Bureau of Land Management since June 2020, overseeing resource management in the Northeastern States District Office. Lindy's career also includes roles as a Regional Environmental Officer and Environmental Protection Specialist with the Department of the Interior from July 2010 to June 2020, and as a Liaison in the Environmental Quality Division with the National Park Service from July 2005 to July 2010. Lindy began the career as a Conservation Planning Assistant at The Nature Conservancy in 2004. Lindy holds a Master of Regional Planning degree in Land Use - Environmental Planning and Sustainable Development from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
