Director Of Professional Learning And MTSS at BOERNE ISD

Jayne Burton, Ed.D., has a diverse work experience in the field of education. From 2001-2003, they worked as a High School English Teacher at Hampton City Schools. In 2003-2004, they served as a Substitute Teacher at Boerne ISD. Following that, from 2004-2008, they taught High School English at Comfort ISD. Since 2008, Jayne has been associated with Boerne ISD in various roles. Jayne started as a High School English Teacher and later became the Secondary ELAR Coordinator. Currently, they hold the position of Director of Professional Learning and MTSS at Boerne ISD.

Jayne Burton, Ed.D. obtained their Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) degree in Global Educational Leadership from Lamar University, which they completed between the years 2018 and 2021. Prior to that, Jayne earned their Master of Arts (MA) degree in Multi/Interdisciplinary Studies (Curriculum and Instruction/English Language Arts) from Angelo State University in 2011. Jayne also holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in English, which they acquired from Christopher Newport University in 1999. Although their degree name from Shenandoah University is not provided, Jayne Burton pursued education from there in 2003. In addition to their formal education, they have obtained several certifications, including Social and Behavioral Research - Basic/Refresher from the CITI Program, a division of BRANY, in November 2020. Jayne also holds certifications in Classroom Teacher English Language Arts and Reading 8-12 from the Texas State Board of Education, obtained in February 2004, and Secondary Speech Communications (6-12) from the Texas State Board of Education, obtained in February 2003.
