Austin Salgat

Austin Salgat has a diverse work experience spanning different industries. Austin currently works at Bold Penguin as a Principal Engineer, where they oversee department-wide initiatives and maintains the core library framework used by multiple teams. Austin has expertise in infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and AWS. Prior to Bold Penguin, they worked at Insureon as a Senior Software Engineer for six years. At Frontline Education, they served as a Software Developer, working on backend development and transitioning legacy software into microservices. Before that, they gained experience as an Electrical Engineer at ArcelorMittal, leading electrical projects and managing the electronics group. Austin also has international experience, having studied abroad at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Additionally, they gained internship experience in Electrical Engineering at Visteon and worked as an Undergraduate Researcher at the University of Michigan as part of the Jack Kent Cooke Research Fellowship.

Austin Salgat received their education from 2006 to 2009 at Monroe County Community College, earning an Associate of Applied Science degree in Electronics and Computer Technology. From 2009 to 2012, they attended the University of Michigan, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree in both Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.
