Chief of Airworthiness at Bold Valuable

Franco Summermatter has a diverse range of work experience in the aviation industry. Franco began their career as a Helicopter Mechanic at Air Glaciers in 2005 and worked there until 2010. In 2013, they joined RUAG Aviation as an Avionics Integration Engineer and held this position until 2018. At H55, they took on various roles, including Certification Engineer from 2018 to 2019, Chief Office of Airworthiness from 2020 to 2021, and Head of Design Organisation from 2021 to 2023. During their time at H55, they successfully obtained the EASA Design Organisation Approval and negotiated an approach for EASA type certification for H55's Electric Propulsion System. Currently, Franco Summermatter holds the position of Chief of Airworthiness at BOLD, where they started in 2023.

Franco Summermatter's education history starts with their Bachelor of Science degree in Infotronics from HES-SO Valais-Wallis, which they obtained between the years 2010 and 2013. Franco then pursued a Diploma Thesis in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Calgary in 2013.

In addition to their formal education, Franco has obtained several certifications and completed training courses. These certifications include "20 Habits of Executive Leadership" and "Develop Your Communication Skills and Interpersonal Influence" from LinkedIn in December 2022. Franco also received a certification as a Sailplane Pilot from the Federal Office of Civil Aviation Switzerland in July 2022 and a certification as a Head of Design Organisation from EASA - European Union Aviation Safety Agency in April 2022.

Furthermore, Franco has completed various training courses, such as CVE Advanced, DO-178C, Part 21, Aircraft Safety Assessment, Human Factors for Flight Deck Design, OSD, EWIS, NVIS, and MIL-HDBK-516. These courses were offered by organizations like PAR Consulting, Co-Guard, ConsuNova, Inc., RGW CHERRY AND ASSOCIATES LIMITED, JAA Training Organisation, and ADSE Consulting and Engineering.

In terms of earlier certifications, Franco obtained an Aircraft Safety Welder S-License from SVS Schweizer Verein für Schweisstechnik in July 2008 and became an Aircraft Mechanic certified by the Federal Office of Civil Aviation Switzerland in July 2008.
