Javier Hernani Burzaco

Javier Hernani Burzaco has a degree in Economics and Business Sciences from the Commercial University of Deusto, a Master's in European Studies, Economics branch, from the College of Europe in Bruges (Belgium), and a Master's in Advanced Management (MEGA) from the Commercial University of Deusto, where he completed the doctorate course.

He has been CEO of BME since April 2017. Between December 2012 and April 2017, he held the position of General Manager of BME, a company in which since March 2003 he held the position of Financial Director and member of the Coordination Committee.

In the Group, he is a Director of the Governing Company of the Bilbao Stock Exchange, SAU and of Bolsas y Mercados Españoles Market Data, SA, and joint administrator of BME Inntech, SAU, and Bolsas y Mercados Españoles, Servicios Corporativos, SA.

Previously, he was Deputy General Manager of the Governing Body of the Bilbao Stock Exchange, SAU, (December 1998-March 2003), which he represented as a member of the Board of Directors of the Securities Clearing and Settlement Service (SCLV) until his appointment. integration in Iberclear, member of the Supervision and Contracts Committee of MEFF until its integration in BME, and in different international forums such as the International Federation of Stock Exchanges (FIABV) and the International Federation of Stock Exchanges (WFE). He has also been Financial Director of Norbolsa, SVB, between September 1989 and December 1988 and consultant to the European financial sector at Coopers & Lybrand Brussels between June 1988 and August 1989.
