Sharath Veldanda

Sharath Veldanda has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Sharath currently holds the position of Vice President of Software Engineering at Bolster, AI, a position they have held since August 2023. Prior to that, they served as the Sr. Director of Engineering, Threat Insights at Proofpoint from May 2014 to August 2023. In this role, they were responsible for cyber security, big data, customer obsession, UI/UX, APIs, data ingestion, business strategy, threat insights and analysis, and business agility. Sharath has expertise in various technologies such as React, NodeJS, Java, AWS, Kubernetes, Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, and more.

Before joining Proofpoint, Sharath worked as the Manager, Software Engineering at NetCitadel from July 2012 to May 2014. There, they managed the SDET and Customer Success functionalities for the Security Orchestration product, and built a malware forensics lab for safe analysis. Prior to NetCitadel, they held the position of Manager, Software Engineering at Brocade from October 2009 to June 2012. In this role, they were responsible for server load balancer product quality and customer success, with expertise in Python, application security, TCP, UDP, and HTTP.

Sharath's career began at Cisco, where they worked as a Senior Software Engineer from December 1999 to October 2009. Sharath started their career as a Software Engineer at Tellabs in April 1999, working on software development for optical switches, specifically delivering alarm handling functionality using C++.

Sharath Veldanda holds an MBA degree from the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business, which was obtained in 2010. Sharath also obtained an MS degree in Computer Engineering from The University of Kansas. In addition, they have certifications including AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner from Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Brocade Certified Layer 4-7 Engineer from Brocade.
