Axel Bichara

Axel Bichara has over 25 years of experience in the venture capital and technology industries. Axel is currently a partner at Bolt, a venture capital firm investing in technology and life sciences companies in the US and Europe. Prior to Bolt, they were a partner at Atlas Venture, where they were involved in seven funds totaling $2.65 billion. Axel also co-founded OnShape, a cloud-based CAD software company, and served on its board for seven years. Bichara has a strong engineering background, having founded Premise, a CAD company spun out of MIT CADLAB, and served as its VP of Engineering for four years. Axel also spent two years as the Manager of Engineering at Computervision, a large CAD/CAM company.

Axel Bichara has a MS in Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, an MBA from INSEAD, and a Dipl. Ing. in Mechanical Engineering from the Technische Universität Berlin.
