Zack Johnston's work experience starts in 2016 as a Construction Material Testing Technician Co-op at GESTRA Engineering, Inc. In 2017, they worked as a Civil Engineering Intern at SmithGroup, where they served as an inspector for a municipal improvement project. From 2018 to 2023, Zack worked at Ryan Companies US, Inc., starting as a Civil Designer I and leading concept site planning and due diligence efforts for real estate development projects. After graduating from high school in 2013, Zack enrolled at the University of Wisconsin-Madison to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, which they completed in 2018.

During their time at Wisconsin-Madison, Zack also had an opportunity to study abroad at Budapest University of Technology and Economics in 2015, although it is not specified whether they obtained a degree or pursued a specific field of study during that time.

Moving on to their additional certifications, Zack obtained a Professional Engineer (PE) certification from the Minnesota Board of AELSLAGID in June 2022. Prior to this, in September 2021, they obtained a certification in Design of Construction Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP) from the University of Minnesota.
