Peter has been an innovator and problem solver in financial services since 1980. Until May 2017, he was group CEO of AIG, where he initially led the recapitalization de-risking and disposition strategy that repaid the US government’s $183 billion assistance package. He spent his first 20 years at JP Morgan, where he founded the global derivatives business, restructured and ran the fixed income and credit businesses and spent his final 18 months as group CFO and chief risk officer.
Between 2001 and 2008, he founded, grew and sold Integrated Finance Limited. He was then for 14 months the Vice Chairman of Keycorp in Cleveland. He currently serves as an advisor and board member to a handful of companies in financial services, technology and life sciences. Peter spent his first 20 years growing up in Hong Kong and was educated in the UK. He holds a BA in politics, philosophy and economics from Oxford University where he initially read physics. He is a William Pitt Fellow of Pembroke College Cambridge.
