Miriam Fink, a San Diego native, knew she wanted to be a vet since she was three years old. As an avid Ranger Rick subscriber, dog breed book purchaser, and Critter Camp attendee, she knew working with animals was her passion. At the age of 11 she got her first dog, a Jack Russell Terrier named Pokey. She watched her family and friends fall in love with a dog, and she experienced how incredible a bond with a dog can be. The bond she made with her dog further elucidated that veterinary medicine was her calling.
