Lucinda Bredin

Global Director of Press & Communications at Bonhams

Lucinda Bredin has been Global Director of Communications since 2014. She is also Editor of Bonhams Magazine, a publication she launched in 2005.

At Bonhams, Lucinda is responsible for all the press and communications around the world, overseeing the press departments in London, the US, Hong Kong and Australia. Notable campaigns include the Lauren Bacall Sale in New York, 2015; the championing of women artists for Post-War and Contemporary Sale in February 2015; Jackie Kennedy's letters from The Harlech Sale, 2017 (a story that was on the front page of The New York Times, on the main morning news in five continents and in print in 129 countries in the world); and the 'African Mona Lisa', Ben Enwonwu's painting that went onto break a world record in the Africa Now Sale in February 2018.

Lucinda has an MA from the Courtauld Institute, where she studied The History and Theory of the Art Museum under the late Giles Waterfield. As a journalist with a career that spanned writing and editing for national newspapers and launching publications, Lucinda edits Bonhams Magazine, which has featured articles by writers and museum curators such as Ben Okri, Jeremy Paxman, Maria Balshaw, Lord Gowrie, Greil Marcus, and William Dalrymple.
