Alvin Cheng is currently the Manager of Talent Acquisition for Bonia Corporation Berhad since 2022. Prior to this, they were the Manager of Talent Acquisition for Lazada from 2021 to 2018. From 2018 to 2016, they were the Talent Acquisition Manager for Shangri-La Group. Before that, they were the Assistant Manager of HR Strategic Programme for HSBC from 2016 to 2013. During this time, they were responsible for recruitment of special talent groups, involved in HSBC's employers' branding initiatives, and drove transformation and change mindset of employees country wide. From 2013 to 2016, they were the Recruitment Resourcing for Group Human Resources at Alliance Bank Malaysia Berhad. During this time, they managed the end-to-end recruitment process, built visibility of the Alliance Bank's brand as a preferred employer in Malaysia, and implemented new interview and hiring competencies bank wide. Alvin was also the Project Manager for Alliance Bank Management Trainee Recruitment. Additionally, they were involved in an Internet Banking Fraud Management project and achieved a fraud drop from peak RM80K in March 2014 to RM1.8K in May. Finally, they were an Alliance Bank Management Trainee in 2013 and underwent trainings which helped him grow on a personal level.
Alvin Cheng obtained a Bachelor of Events Management from Berjaya University College of Hospitality from 2009 to 2012, with a focus in Events Management & Marketing. Prior to that, they attended Methodist Boys Secondary School Kuala Lumpur from 2004 to 2008.
