Shonn Stahlecker

Shonn Stahlecker is the Controller at Boom Supersonic. Prior to this, they were with Jagged Peak Energy from January 2013 to December 2020, where they served as Controller and oversaw all accounting and financial reporting from initiation of company through formational acquisitions as well as initial public offering (IPO) in January 2017, significantly increasing growth up to acquisition in early 2020. Shonn provided critical leadership through IPO, with limited accounting employees and interacting extensively with contractors, bankers, and attorneys. Shonn worked with a variety of accounting resources, managing primarily outsourced professionals through 2016 and thereafter building a quality team of 15 employees. Shonn partnered with peer group of E&P accounting professionals to address emerging issues and ensure accounting practices consistent with peers. Shonn supported due diligence and other M&A processes, and was responsible for purchase accounting related to resulting transactions.

During their time at Jagged Peak Energy, they improved the speed and accuracy of the financial close process and collaborated with operations personnel to enhance accuracy and timeliness of financial data. Shonn also established full-scale controls for Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and oversaw financial statement and controls audit work (internal and external) through all stages of the company’s growth. In addition, they facilitated continuously improving communications between accounting and other key business functions as well as communication of key financial results to the executive team to enable timely business decisions. Shonn also communicated regularly with the audit committee of the board of directors.

Shonn Stahlecker completed their MS in Accounting from Brigham Young University and their BS in Accounting from Brigham Young University as well. Shonn is also a Certified Public Accountant from NASBA.
