Chethan TR

Chethan TR is the current Carbon Projects Development Lead at Boomitra. Prior to this, they worked as a Project Manager at Iora Ecological Solutions from September 2015 to January 2019 where they were extensively involved in the development of Forest PLUS program of USAID. Their work included project feasibility assessment, project document development, stakeholder consultations, and to some extent pilot implementation.

Chethan has also worked on carbon footprint estimation of tea cultivation practices of small tea growers and bought leaf factories (that buy tea from small tea growers) of Assam and West Bengal. In addition, they have conducted a feasibility study for the collaboration of Indo-German bilateral cooperation, the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH (GIZ India) for Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Action (NAMA) in Assam. This feasibility assessment was applicable to the entire tea estates of state of Assam and studied sustainable fuelwood management strategies for the tea estate labourers. The assessment informed the state action plan on climate change (SAPCC, Assam).

Chethan has also developed monitoring and evaluation reports for auditing and provided technical assistance to project developers in Carbon credit issuance. In addition, they have also undertaken training and capacity building of locals on CDM/GS/VCS guidelines.

Chethan TR completed a Bachelor of Technology in BE Instrumentation Technology from Ambedkar DSEU Shakarpur Campus-I.

They are on a team with Jordan Oldag - Geospatial Data Scientist, Josh Shaeffer - Head of Global Business Development, and Abhinav Gupta - Partner Relationships Manager, APAC. Their manager is Aadith Moorthy, Founder & CEO.
