Glenn Phillips

Glenn Phillips has a diverse work experience in the field of software engineering. Glenn currently holds the role of Software Engineer at BOOM! since 2021. In this role, they are responsible for developing a new dashboard that aggregates energy data across large property portfolios and migrating an existing rooftop measurement tool to React and Typescript.

Prior to their current position, Glenn worked as a Junior Software Engineer at BOOM! from 2022 to 2023. During this time, they were involved in developing and migrating various software applications using Vanilla Javascript, Django, React, and Typescript.

Glenn also has experience as a Software Engineer Intern at BOOM! from 2021 to 2022, where they conducted a usability audit of the live website and maintained and refactored the existing Django and React codebase.

Apart from their roles at BOOM!, Glenn also worked as a Full Stack Developer at Melbourne Business School from 2022 to present, and at University of Melbourne from 2021 to present. At these institutions, they gained experience in developing software applications and supervising student teams working on projects within the university and with external industry partners. Glenn also created educational resources for students on various software development topics.

Before venturing into software engineering, Glenn worked as a Swim Instructor at YMCA Victoria from 2018 to 2021. In this role, they taught swimming to individuals of different backgrounds and abilities, and assisted with administrative tasks and training of new teachers.

Glenn Phillips completed their education with a Master of Software Engineering (with Distinction) degree from the University of Melbourne, which they pursued from 2021 to 2022. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree with a specialization in Finance and Marketing from the same university, from 2017 to 2020. Additionally, during the same period, they also accomplished a Diploma in Computing.
