Dave Shull

Dave Shull is a seasoned executive with over 20 years of experience in the media and technology industries. Dave is currently serving as an advisor at Boomtown Accelerators, a startup accelerator based in Boulder, Colorado.

Shull began their career in 1997 as a director of marketing for Tanning Technology, a software company. Dave then spent four years as the chief operating officer of RioLabs, a mobile gaming company. In 2004, they joined EchoStar as senior vice president of Asia operations.

In 2008, Shull was recruited by Dish Network to serve as its executive vice president and chief commercial officer. In this role, they oversaw content acquisition and packaging, pricing, marketing, consumer products and offers, and advertising sales. Dave helped grow Dish Network into a $14 billion business.

In 2015, Shull left Dish Network to join The Weather Company as group president of TV. Dave was later promoted to CEO. During their tenure, they pursued innovative opportunities with over-the-top video (partnered with Sling TV and others), addressable advertising, and new models for live TV. In 2018, they stepped down as CEO but remained on the board.

In 2019, Shull was named president and CEO of TiVo. Dave held this position for one year before returning to the Boulder area to serve as an advisor for Boomtown Accelerators.

Dave Shull has a MBA from the Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford, a B.A. from Harvard University, and a Yale-China Language Centre Diploma Programme from The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Dave is also a certified private aircraft pilot and has a certification from Berklee College of Music.
