David Gold

David Gold is the current advisor at Boomtown Accelerators and the previous founder, CEO, and board member of Dapix, Inc. David has also been a board member of Rockies Venture Club and the founder and chairman of Colorado Venture Summit.

Gold started their career as a software engineer and then became a management consultant for Bain & Company. David later co-founded their first startup, an enterprise software company, which they grew and eventually sold to a publicly traded company.

In 2013, Gold founded the Colorado Venture Summit, a large annual conference that connects startups with investors. The event was a success, growing to over 1,000 attendees in just a few years. In 2018, Gold sold the event to the National Venture Capital Association.

In July 2018, Gold founded Dapix, Inc., a blockchain software startup incubated at Access Venture Partners. The company revolutionized blockchain usability via a decentralized workflow layer. Dapix built the first version of what became the initial software driving the FIO Protocol. The software was sold for a healthy return to an industry-guided non-profit (the Foundation for Interwallet Operability) which open sourced the software and decentralized the protocol.

After the sale, the FIO Protocol and its underlying decentralized blockchain were launched independently by a community of 26 block producers from over 15 countries in March 2020. Blockchain wallets with FIO integrations were released the next day. Today, over 60 crypto products have or are integrating FIO Protocol capabilities and over 800,000 users have registered human readable FIO crypto handles.

David Gold completed a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder. David then went on to complete an M.S. in Technology Policy from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Finally, they completed an M.S. in Aeronautics and Astronautics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
