Stefan Bien

Stefan Bien is the President of the Board of Directors at Next Step Service Dogs, a nonprofit organization focused on providing service dogs, since July 2021. Additionally, Stefan has served as faculty in the Expeditionary Warfare School's Blended Seminar Program at Davis Defense Group, Inc. since January 2017, where instruction and Socratic-style discussions have been created and led for over 500 students. Prior experience includes a distinguished 27-year career in the United States Marine Corps, culminating in the rank of Colonel, with significant leadership roles and operational expertise in training and advising diverse teams, notably leading over 100 personnel in support of the Iraqi security forces. Academic credentials include a Bachelor of Arts in Physiology and Cell Biology from UC Santa Barbara, two Master's degrees in International Relations and National Security Studies from Air War College and Naval Postgraduate School, respectively, and a welding certification from the American Fabrication Academy.
