Walid Awad

Walid Awad is a seasoned professional in risk management with extensive experience across various industries. Currently serving as Director of Enterprise Risk Management at Boralex Inc. since November 2023, Walid previously held the position of Director of Risk Management at BDC from April 2019 to October 2023. Prior roles include Manager of Governance, Risk Management & Controls and Advisor for Compliance Controls & Risk Management at SNC-Lavalin, along with advising on Risk & Compliance at National Bank of Canada. Walid began the professional journey at PwC as an Associate in Audit & Assurance and also completed a summer internship in the same department. Walid's educational background includes a Bachelor of Commerce from Concordia University and further studies at McGill University and the Global Risk Management Institute, along with additional certifications from The Institutes.
