Dr. Hans-Ulrich Simmrock has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and industries. Dr. Hans-Ulrich began their career as a Researcher at the Research Institute for Polymers and Textiles (Tsukuba) in 1990 before transitioning to a Technology Manager role at Hoechst from 1991 to 1998. Prior to joining Borealis, Dr. Simmrock worked as a Business Manager at Herberts in 1999. Dr. Hans-Ulrich then joined DuPont in 2000, where they held various roles including Manager of Corporate Development and Strategic Planning. During their time at DuPont, they were responsible for business transformations, M&A activities, and joint-venture design and execution in Europe and Asia. In 2012, Dr. Simmrock joined Borealis as the Group Development Manager and later took on the position of Project Director for the Borealis-KLPE Kazakhstan project. Dr. Hans-Ulrich was involved in negotiations for major contracts and served as a board member of the joint project company. Dr. Simmrock's most recent role at Borealis was Director of Business Development, where they were responsible for leading the development of very large scale joint ventures.
Dr. Hans-Ulrich Simmrock completed their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Polymer Research from the Max-Planck Institute for Polymer Research in 1989. In 2005, they attended IMD to pursue the European Leadership Development Program in Business Administration and Management. In 2019, they also attended IMD for a Business Sustainability Program. Additionally, they attended the IFF for a Project Finance Masterclass, but the degree name is not provided.
