Femke Swarte

Femke Swarte is an experienced educator with a focus on German language instruction and linguistics. Since August 2015, Femke has been teaching German at Bornego College. Previously, Femke served as a PhD student at the University of Groningen from September 2011 to March 2016, studying the mutual intelligibility of Germanic languages. Additional experience includes teaching Danish at Scandinavisch Vertaal- en Informatiebureau Nederland and providing tutoring in German to secondary school students. Femke completed various internships, including teaching German at H.N. Werkman College and conducting research on Frisian language attitudes at Fryske Akademy. Femke holds multiple degrees from the University of Groningen, culminating in a Master of Education in German Language Teacher Education.
