James Mottorn II

James Mottorn II has over two decades of experience in the security and safety systems industry, currently serving as Team Lead and Senior Sensors Product Manager at Bosch Security and Safety Systems since March 2002. In this role, James oversees the fire business unit in the USA, managing the product life cycle for UL products and collaborating closely with various departments to meet customer needs. Previously held positions include Fire Product Manager and China Engineering Coordinator, where responsibilities included project leadership and technical training. Earlier career experience at Detection Systems Inc. as a Product Development Engineer involved the design and development of various smoke detection technologies. James holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Rochester Institute of Technology and an Associate of Applied Science in Electrical Engineering from Alfred State College - SUNY, complemented by training from Dale Carnegie in 2008.
