Dr. Merritt Moore

Dr. Merritt Moore is a distinguished professional ballet dancer and academic, currently performing with Boston Ballet and serving as an Adjunct Professor of Practice and Distinguished Artist in Residence at New York University Abu Dhabi. Previous experiences include being an Artist in Residence at Harvard University and a ballet dancer with notable companies such as Den Norske Opera & Ballett and English National Ballet. Dr. Moore gained recognition as one of twelve astronaut candidates on the BBC Two program "Astronauts: Do you have what it takes?" and has contributed to significant research in the field of physics, including work on semiconductor methods for Majorana fermions at Harvard University. Dr. Moore holds a Bachelor of Arts in Physics from Harvard University and a Doctor of Philosophy in Atomic and Laser Physics from the University of Oxford.
