Chris Kelly

Assistant Coach at Boston Bruins

Chris Kelly is in his second season with the Bruins front office, as he returned to the club in the position of Player Development Coordinator on July 18, 2019.

The Toronto native comes to the Bruins after spending the previous season as a Development Coach with the Ottawa Senators.

Kelly was drafted by the Senators in the third round, 94th overall, of the 1999 NHL Entry Draft. He played four seasons of junior hockey with London and Sudbury of the Ontario Hockey League with 106-148=254 totals and 184 penalty minutes in 235 career junior games.

Kelly spent most of his first four professional seasons in the American Hockey League with Grand Rapids and Binghamton before breaking into the NHL to stay in 2005-06. He went on to enjoy a 13-year NHL career with the Ottawa Senators, Boston Bruins and Anaheim Ducks with career NHL totals of 123 goals and 168 assists for 291 points in 845 games. His 288-game Bruins career included 43 goals and 58 assists for 101 points from 2011-16 and he was a key figure with 5-8=13 totals in the 25 games of Boston's 2011 Stanley Cup championship run.

He also won a Bronze medal with Team Canada as he captained that squad in the 2018 Olympic Games.

Kelly and his wife Krissy have three children, daughters Presley, Evynn, and Landyn.
