Dave Lewin has a diverse work experience across various industries. Dave started their career as a Data Analysis Intern for the Global Initiative at Harvard Business School in 2006. Dave then worked as a Contributing Writer for Football Outsiders from 2006 to 2008. In 2006, they also took on the role of a Research Assistant to Professor Vittorio Addona at Macalester College.

In 2007, Dave joined the Cleveland Cavaliers as a Basketball Operations Analytics Intern and continued in that role until 2009. Dave transitioned to the role of Basketball Operations Assistant / Salary Cap Analyst for the Cavaliers from 2010 to 2012. Dave also worked as a Basketball Operations Seasonal Assistant during the 2009-2010 season.

From 2012 to the present, Dave has been associated with the Boston Celtics. Dave started as a Scouting Coordinator and later served as the Director of Scouting from 2013 to 2016. Dave then took on the role of Director of Player Evaluation from 2016 to 2019, before becoming the Director of Player Personnel from 2019 to 2022. Currently, they hold the position of Assistant GM at the Boston Celtics, starting in January 2022.

Additionally, Dave had a stint as the General Manager of Basketball Operations for the Maine Red Claws from 2014 to 2017.

Dave Lewin attended Wayland High School from 2001 to 2005. Following their high school education, they enrolled at Macalester College from 2005 to 2009, where they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Economics, Mathematics, and Statistics.
