Jace Delaney

Director, Sports Science & Athletic Development at Boston Celtics

Jace Delaney is currently the Director of Sports Science & Athletic Development for the Boston Celtics. Prior to their current position, Jace interned with the Newcastle Knights from November 2011 to September 2013, where they gained experience in strength and conditioning. Jace then worked for the Boston Celtics for a brief period before pursuing their PhD at Victoria University from October 2013 to October 2017. After completing their PhD, Jace became the Director of Performance and Sports Science at the University of Oregon, a position they held from July 2017 to October 2019. During their time at Oregon, Jace also worked as a statician for SportsData and as a casual demonstrator at the University of Newcastle.

Jace Delaney has a PhD from Victoria University, a Bachelor's degree in Exercise and Sport Science from the University of Newcastle, and certification from the Australia and New Zealand Bone Mineral Society in Dual X-Ray Absorptiometry. Jace is also certified by Sports Medicine Australia in Advanced Strapping and Level 1 Sports Trainer, and by the Australian Strength & Conditioning Association (ASCA) in Level 1 Strength & Conditioning Coach.

They work with and Phil Coles - Executive Director, Performance. Some direct reports include Patrick Chasse - Physical Therapist, Nick Sang - Physical Therapist. Their manager is Allison Feaster, VP, Player Development & Organizational Growth.
