Douglas Sumi

Douglas Sumi is an accomplished musician currently serving on the music staff at the Opera Theatre of Saint Louis and as the official pianist for the Metropolitan Opera, where duties include performing for the Boston district and New England regional rounds of the Laffont Competition. With extensive experience as a lecturer and chair of voice at Boston University, Sumi also founded the Prospect Park Chamber Players, collaborating with prominent musicians in chamber music. Additional engagements include guest artist appearances at Harvard University and Northern Arizona University, as well as a pianist role for the Indianapolis Opera and the New Orleans Opera. Sumi holds a Master of Music in Classical Accompanying from the Manhattan School of Music and is currently pursuing two Master of Business Administration degrees at Boston University.
