Joseph Connolly has extensive work experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with a focus on analytical CMC activities and process development. Joseph has held positions at various companies, starting with Boston Pharmaceuticals as an Executive Director of Technical Operations/CMC. In this role, they oversee all analytical CMC activities at external vendors for biologics and manages selection, method development, and assay transfer. Prior to their role at Boston Pharmaceuticals, Joseph worked at Agenus as a Director of Analytical and Process Development, where they led a team and implemented scientific strategies to support biologic product development and clinical trials. Joseph also served as an Associate Director of Process Analytics, contributing to Phase 1 IND submissions and assessing developability and manufacturability of therapeutic mAb programs. Before that, they were a Senior Scientist in the PAT/CMC Group, providing analytical oversight and characterizing biologics. Joseph's earlier experience includes roles as a Senior Scientist at Peptimmune, analyzing peptide drug substances, and as a Research Scientist at Vital Probes, Inc., developing analytical methods and identifying antigens. Joseph began their career as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Vermont, where they worked on high-throughput screening and X-ray crystallography. Overall, Joseph has a strong background in analytical CMC, process development, and biologic product characterization.
Joseph Connolly completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry at the University of Scranton, from 1988 to 1992. Following this, they pursued further education at The Robert Larner, M.D. College of Medicine at The University of Vermont, where they obtained their Ph.D. in Biochemistry. This was accomplished from 1992 to 2000.
