Lance Bates

SVP & President, Interventional Cardiology Therapies at Boston Scientific

Lance Bates is our senior vice president and president, Interventional Cardiology Therapies, a position he has held since January 2022. In this role he is responsible for our coronary therapies, structural heart and interventional heart failure franchises. Prior to his current role, Mr. Bates served as our global president, Coronary Therapies from June 2020 to January 2022. In this role his responsibilities included management of the P/L, R/D, strategy, marketing, product development and global commercial execution of the coronary therapies business. Previously Mr. Bates served as vice president and general manager, Coronary Therapies from November 2017 to June 2020, and as vice president, Interventional Cardiology global marketing from August 2015 to June 2020. Prior to Joining Boston Scientific, Mr. Bates served at DePuy Synthes, a division of Johnson & Johnson from February 2015 to August 2015, as vice president, north America spine sales and DePuy Synthes Canada. While at Depuy Synthes, he was the vice president of U.S. sales from January 2011 to February 2015, and from September 2009 to January 2011, was an area vice president - sales. Earlier in his career, Mr. Bates spent over 13 years in various positions at GE Healthcare and was the COO at a radiology informatics company called INPHACT. Mr. Bates has an MBA from university of Chicago and a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from University of Cincinnati.
