Yi-Shu Tai's work experience includes roles at various companies and organizations.
From 2020 to the present, Yi-Shu has been serving as the Director of Process Development at Bota Biosciences.
Prior to that, from 2017 to 2020, Yi-Shu worked at Amyris, where they held two positions. From August 2018 to May 2020, they were a Scientist in Fermentation Process Development. Then, from October 2017 to July 2018, they held the role of Scientist in Biology, specifically working on strain engineering and the development and testing of alternative plate models.
Before joining Amyris, Yi-Shu worked at ZymoChem from June 2016 to October 2017 as a Scientist. In this role, they designed and executed carbon-conserving pathways for the production of high-volume commodity chemicals and co-authored SBIR grant proposals.
Yi-Shu's earliest work experience dates back to their time at the University of Minnesota, where they worked as a Doctoral Researcher from September 2011 to May 2016. During this time, they conducted research on the biosynthesis of 1,4-butanediol and also served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant from August 2012 to May 2015.
Finally, before entering the field of science, Yi-Shu served as a Second Lieutenant in the ROC Army from August 2010 to July 2011.
Yi-Shu Tai completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering at National Taiwan University from 2006 to 2010. Later, from 2011 to 2016, Yi-Shu Tai pursued a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering at the University of Minnesota. Additionally, in February 2022, Yi-Shu Tai obtained a certification in Foundations of Project Management from Coursera.
