Gamu Mpofu

Gamu Mpofu currently serves as the Acting Chief Strategy and Sustainability Officer at Botswana Oil Limited, a position held since March 2014, where expertise in strategy development and implementation is utilized to lead strategic planning and enhance project management capabilities across the organization. Previously, Gamu held the role of Head of New Ventures, focusing on substantial investment projects, and Assistant Project Manager, managing the delivery of the Morupule B Power Station and contributing to the establishment of Botswana's National Oil Company. Earlier experience includes positions as Senior Energy Officer at the Ministry of Minerals Energy and Water Resources and various roles within the Department of Energy in Botswana, where Gamu proved instrumental in tender management and procurement processes. Gamu's educational background includes a Master's Degree in Economics with a concentration in Energy Economics from Macquarie University and a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences, specializing in Economics and Statistics from the University of Botswana.
