Matt Whitaker, MTS, MT-BC has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Matt currently serves as the Director of Community Engagement at Boulder Care. Prior to this, they worked as the Head of Partnerships at Pisces (formerly Doola) in 2022. From 2018 to 2022, they held multiple roles at Compassion & Choices, including National Director of Integrated Programs, Director of Integrated Programs, and Storyteller Program Manager. In 2017, they worked as a Hospice Consultant at Hospice Partners. Before that, they worked at Compassion & Choices from 2014 to 2017, where they served as Access Campaign Director, California and Oregon State Director, Multi-State Implementation Manager, Oregon State Director, and Oregon Outreach Coordinator. Matt has also held positions at Rose Villa Senior Living Community as Activities and Volunteer Coordinator, Emory Healthcare as an Activity Therapist and Music Therapy Intern, Extra Special People, Inc. as an Adaptive Music Instructor/Swim Coach, and University of Georgia as an Adaptive Music Instructor.

Matt Whitaker has a strong educational background in theology and music therapy. Matt earned their Bachelor of Music degree in Music Therapy from The University of Georgia in 2012. Later, in 2015, they pursued further education, earning a Masters of Theological Studies (MTS) degree in Integrative Theology from the United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities. Matt also holds a Specialty Certificate in Hospice and Palliative Care Chaplaincy from the Spiritual Care Association, which they obtained in an unspecified year. In addition to their academic achievements, Matt Whitaker is a certified Music Therapist, obtaining the Music Therapist - Board Certified designation from the Certification Board for Music Therapists in June 2020.
