Sam Macken

Sam J. Macken currently serves as a Development Associate for the Boulder Philharmonic Orchestra and holds the position of Associate Principal Bassoon at the Helena Symphony. In addition, Sam J. Macken works as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Colorado Boulder and plays the 2nd Bassoon for the Bozeman Symphony. Previous experience includes a Research Assistant role at the University of Oklahoma and serving in the Music Department at FBC Tulsa, alongside work as a Music Instructor for Sistema Tulsa. Sam J. Macken is pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the University of Colorado Boulder, with graduate certificates in Bassoon Performance and Pedagogy, Arts Administration, and Native American and Indigenous Studies. Sam J. Macken also holds a Master of Music degree in Bassoon Performance from the University of Oklahoma and a Bachelor's degree from The University of Tulsa.
