Stella Smith

Lecturer, Early Years-Higher Education at South & City College Birmingham

Stella joined South & City College Birmingham in 2020 as a HE lecturer in Early Years. Prior to this, she worked as a tutor and assessor for another training provider.

Before joining the further education sector, Stella spent several years as part of an Early Years management team, working in day nurseries and childcare facilities in and around the Birmingham area.

Stella completed a BA Hons in German studies at the University of Wales, following which she attended the University of Worcester, obtaining her Early Years Professional Status and QTS in the Early Years in 2013. Since then, she has achieved a Certificate in Higher Education Teaching and Learning (2018) through Anglia Ruskin University as well as being awarded a Fellowship for the Higher Education Academy (HEA). Stella is currently in her final year of study for a Master’s Degree in Education (Early Years) through the Centre for Research in Early Childhood (CREC).
