I have a passion for the temporary employment and secondment industry. Realizing people's wishes is something that fascinates me every day. This in combination with the drive to learn and develop. My motto is: 'a day not learned is a day wasted'. So I go to work every day whistling.

I sometimes say: if I hadn't been an entrepreneur, I would have been in front of the class. A characteristic of a teacher is that he is quite stubborn. And yes, so am I. I have a social science background. You might not expect that from someone who works in the construction industry. But I speak 'build', am 'build' and feel 'construct' down to my toes.

I like challenges and always want to be the best in my field. I have been doing this for over 25 years. I enjoy building the Bouwprofs Group together with great pleasure. I don't see myself as a director, but my employees make me that. I consider it a privilege that I can lead this great club of people.

The enthusiasm with which I lead the Bouwprofs Group on a daily basis means that I need an outlet in my spare time. Because working 24/7 on 'the business' is of course not healthy. I find that outlet in sports. But you guessed it… I want to be the best in this too. In concrete terms, this means that I have skated the alternative Elfstedentocht 16 times in Austria and have been allowed to do the round in Friesland once. Of course I dream of the REAL Elfstedenkruis and I follow the weather reports very closely every winter. To prevent that I would not be fit enough when the time comes, I work on my condition on the ATB, racing bike, in the swimming pool and in the gym. This is how I keep my body and mind healthy.

My family and my friends are the foundation of everything I do. Nothing makes me as happy as standing on the slats with my family in the winter. Or spend the summer with friends and their families in a cozy French house. Sporting excesses, but certainly also good food and drinks. You can wake me up day and night for this.

Another important thread is my second life motto: 'What you don't want done to you, don't do it to someone else'. Although I have a Christian background, I do not get this motto from the Bible. No, I got it from a song by the rock band Normal. And this also typifies me. I am a practical person with two feet in the clay.
