Position Summary

The Instructor – Esports Broadcasting is a seasoned industry expert specializing in the business aspects of esports, with a particular focus on broadcasting and the broader esports ecosystem. They combine deep theoretical knowledge of broadcasting with extensive practical experience, having held key roles in esports organizations or worked closely with sponsors and investors.
Leveraging your in-depth knowledge and experience in the esports industry, the successful candidate will play a key role in the development of the next generation of esports industry professionals. This may include roles in esports organizations, marketing agencies, event planning, or relevant business ventures.

All instructors in the Chiu School of Business (CSB) are responsible for supporting the delivery of courses and providing instruction to students in multiple delivery modalities, while integrating current practices, techniques, and assessment methods. The duties of an instructor also include facilitating inclusive student engagement, evaluating student progress, and supporting students in meeting learning outcomes of their courses and programs. Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders of the school and institution is essential to supporting continuous, instructional, and program improvement. This includes other faculty, schools, departments, and industry partners. Participation in Professional Development activities is expected in this role.

Qualifications

  • Post Secondary Diploma (Bachelor’s degree preferred) in a related field such as business, broadcasting, digital marketing, or sports management

  • Three years, industry experience in esports organization; marketing agencies, event planning, or business venture In-depth knowledge of the Esports industry

  • An established network within the esports industry, which could include connections with professionals, organizations, and events. This can enhance the instructor’s ability to provide relevant and up-to-date insights to students.

  • Preference will be given to candidates possessing 2 years’ instructional experience at the post-secondary/adult education/corporate training level, evidence of lifelong learning and additional professional education and/or experience.

  • Curriculum development and design experience would be a positive asset

  • Clear enhanced Police Background check, including the vulnerable sector

  • An equivalent combination of directly related education and experience may be considered.

If your education was received internationally we will require you provide an international education assessment through IQAS, WES, or one of the other nationally designated organizations upon hire.
