BOW VALLEY COLLEGE
Heather teaches business strategy courses and macroeconomics as part of the Business Administration programs. She brings a wealth of business knowledge and experience to classroom discussions and activities. She holds a Masters of Development Economics, a Bachelor of Business Administration, and a diploma in adult education.
Prior to joining Bow Valley College in 2016, Heather had leadership roles within small organizations that were dynamic, fast-paced, and where priorities shifted as new programs were quickly implemented to meet client needs and take advantage of new opportunities. She supported small and medium sized business owners by exploring new ideas and by getting connected to potential strategic partners, financers, consultants, and mentors to assist them in their next phase of growth. She facilitated workshops for entrepreneurs on topics of strategic planning, growth strategies, marketing, and situational leadership across British Columbia and in Calgary.
Heather’s teaching philosophy is to create a safe and inclusive environment where everyone is willing to participate and able to learn. She is an enthusiastic guide along the path of learning, challenging students to gather information to solve complex problems and see the subject matter through a different lens. Don’t expect to passively listen to a lecture in any of her classes.

For over thirty years, Bow Valley College has worked with adults engaged in learning as a life-expanding experience. In partnership with our students and our community, we have developed flexible, responsive and innovative methods addressing the needs of adults who want to advance their careers. At Bow Valley College our business is adult education. We provide programs designed to help students build their skills through academic foundations, careers programs that last less than a year in Health, Business and Industry, and English as a Second Language training.
