Luzimar Serviss

Instructor, Business Administration at BOW VALLEY COLLEGE

Luzimar Serviss is an economics instructor and develops curriculum as a subject matter expert in the areas of Macroeconomics and Applied Calculus at the Chiu School of Business. She is an empirical economist and received her PhD in Economics from the University of Seville, Spain with highest distinction, summa cum laude. Dr. Serviss is committed to advancing the business, political and social applicability of economics having been selected as one of 20 economists and political analysts to be part of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD’s) World Forum on Statistics, Knowledge and Policy. In addition, she is a member of the national and regional professional representations including the Canadian Economics Association and the Alberta Women's Science Network.

A life-long learner, Dr. Serviss has completed a Business Management Program with a focus on Risk Management at the University of Calgary. In addition, she is actively engaged at the College as a member of the Chiu School of Business Professional Development Approval Committee, a representative to the Academic and Research Plan Committee, and the Treasurer of the Bow Valley College Faculty Association. She is also an active community volunteer, participating in the Calgary Board of Education Gifted and Talented Education Board, School Councils, and community association boards.
