Ava Harter

Ava Harter is the current Trustee at Bowling Green State University. Ava has an extensive background in law, having served as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at Owens Corning, a Fortune 500 manufacturing company comprised of 20,000 employees in more than 36 countries. In this role, they were a member of the Company Executive Committee and Operating Committee, and was responsible for overseeing a 100 person team that formulated legal strategy, administered legal operations, managed corporate affairs, and conducted government affairs.

Harter was also previously General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer at Taleris, and General Counsel, GE Avionics at GE Aviation. In their role as Corporate and Commercial Counsel at Dow, they advised on a wide range of legal matters including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, licensing, commercial contracts, and general corporate law.

Harter is a highly respected lawyer with a proven track record in strategic legal advice, compliance, and risk management. Ava has been instrumental in advising on some of the biggest transactions and developments in their previous companies, and is widely respected for their knowledge and expertise.

Ava Harter is a graduate of Northwestern University School of Law and has a JD. Ava also has a Masters in Sociology from the University of Nebraska.
