Norman Zhou

Senior Vice President at Boxer Capital

Norman Zhou, Ph.D., joined Boxer Capital, LLC in 2016. As Senior Vice President, Dr. Zhou is responsible for conducting due diligence of public and private investments in healthcare. In his role, he also serves as a Member of the Board Directors for Vivace Therapeutics, Inc.

Prior to joining Boxer, Dr. Zhou was employed at the Genentech Research and Early Development (gRED) organization of Roche. Dr. Zhou has advanced many early development programs in ophthalmology, oncology, immunology, and infectious disease through preclinical and clinical development, and contributed to several Genentech/Roche pipeline molecules and marketed products. Prior to joining Genentech, Dr. Zhou worked on clinical development of antibacterial and antiviral agents at Duke Clinical Research Institute (DCRI) and GSK.

Dr. Zhou received a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutic Science from The Ohio State University as a Presidential Fellow, an M.B.A. from University of California, Berkeley, and both Bachelor of Medicine and Master of Medicine degrees in Pharmacy from Zhejiang University. Dr. Zhou has authored over 30 scientific publications and conference abstracts and was a co-inventor of several patents. Dr. Zhou has been named to honors including AAPS Innovation in Biotechnology Award and Pelotonia Fellow.
