Roy Sugarman

Roy Sugarman has an extensive work experience in the field of neuroscience and psychology. Roy began their career as a Clinical Tutor at the South Australia Psychiatry Training Committee and later worked as a Principal Psychologist and Clinical Director at Sydney South West Area Health Service. Roy also served as the Acting Director of Psychological Services at the Royal Rehabilitation Centre. In 2004, they joined UNSW as a Senior Adjunct Senior Lecturer in Psychiatry, where they were involved in training and examining psychiatry registrars and medical students.

In 2006, Sugarman took on multiple roles, including Director Clinical Solutions at The Brain Resource Company, Clinical Neuropsychologist and Clinical Psychologist at Level 7 Psychology, and Director of Applied Neuroscience at LifeIQ. From 2009 to the present, they have served as the Director of Neuroscience in the Performance Innovation Team at EXOS, where they support brain health initiatives in elite athletes, military personnel, and corporate leaders.

Since 2014, Sugarman has been the Director of BoxPlay, a creative media on demand production company with a focus on social impact. Their most recent role, as of 2016, is a Neuroscience Specialist at Social Health Innovations, Inc. and HeartWave-Transhuman Inc, where they contribute to the development of products such as the Be A Looper app and works on transduction of human emotion technology.

Roy Sugarman received their education in a chronological order as follows:

From 1977 to 1979, they attended Witwatersrand Technicon and obtained a Diploma in Orthotics and Prosthetics, specializing in Orthotist/Prosthetist.

From 1984 to 1986, they pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Biological Psychology at the University of South Africa/Universiteit van Suid-Afrika.

In 1987, they achieved a Bachelor's Degree in Honours in Applied Psychology from the University of the Witwatersrand.

Next, they pursued a Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology at the University of South Africa/Universiteit van Suid-Afrika, from 1989 to 1990.

Finally, from 1991 to 1992, they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Clinical Neuropsychology from the University of Johannesburg.

In addition to their academic qualifications, Roy Sugarman received certification as a Psychologist with Clinical Psychology and Clinical Neuropsychology from the Australian Health Professional Regulation Agency in October 1998.
