Sanya Detweiler has worked in various roles since 2010. Sanya began their career as an Administrator & Trip Leader for StoveTeam International in 2010, followed by a role as Community Outreach Coordinator for NextStep Recycling. In 2012, they became a Research Associate & International Consultant for Aprovecho Research Center. In 2014, they worked as an Associate Project Manager, Service Delivery and Field Service Associate, Fleet Operations for Sunrun. In 2017, they were a Master Student Intern, Product Management & Business Development for Mercedes-Benz Energy. In 2018, they joined the Clinton Foundation as a Director, Clinton Climate Initiative, Associate Director, Clinton Climate Initiative, and Senior Project Manager, Islands Energy Program. Most recently, they have been a Project Manager at BoxPower since 2022.

Sanya Detweiler holds a B.A. in Architecture, Global Poverty & Practice from the University of California, Berkeley. Sanya then went on to obtain a Master of Science in Sustainable Energy System Management from Hanzehogeschool Groningen / Hanze University of Applied Sciences Groningen. Lastly, they earned a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Sustainable Energy Management from Universidad de Zaragoza. Additionally, in November 2020, they obtained their Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute and is currently working towards their NABCEP Photovoltaic Entry Level certification from the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners.
