Phil Baker

Phil Baker currently serves as the Chief Underwriting Officer at BOXX Insurance Inc. since February 2022. Previously, Phil held the position of Chairperson for Beazley Canada from February 2017 to December 2021, where responsibilities included leading business development efforts. Prior to this, Phil was the President & CEO at Creechurch from October 2010 to February 2017, overseeing underwriting and strategic initiatives, and also served as the Executive Vice President at the same company, focusing on underwriting and product development. Phil's experience includes a role as Vice President of Financial & Professional Services at Travelers from May 2003 to September 2010, where leadership was provided for Management & Professional Liability Products in Canada, in addition to a position as Manager of D&O at Creechurch from November 1997 to May 2003, with national responsibilities in underwriting. Phil holds a Master of Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University and a Bachelor's degree in Art Studies from Huron University.
