Veronica M. Downey

Veronica M. Downey has extensive experience in talent acquisition and human resources. Starting in 2003, they worked as a Cooperative Intern and Assistant to the Commissioner at the City of Chicago. Veronica M. then moved on to a role as a Recruitment Coordinator at Girl Scouts, where they focused on Latino Adult Volunteer Advancement program recruitment. From 2007 to 2010, they served as an HR Coordinator at Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers. Veronica then transitioned to a role as Director of Admissions at Robert Morris University, where they managed strategic recruitment within an assigned regional territory. Veronica M. also worked as a Campus Director and High School Relations Counselor at the university. In 2016, they joined Sears as a College Recruiter & Intern Program Manager, and later became a Project Manager. Veronica M. then worked at KeHE Distributors as a Talent Acquisition Project Manager, managing the applicant tracking system and national sourcing strategy. At Sears again, from 2019 to 2020, they held the role of HR Manager II, Candidate & Associate Experience, where they focused on providing the best experience for retail services candidates and associates. Most recently, Veronica has been working as a Director of Talent Acquisition at Advocate Aurora Health (from 2022 to 2023) and Boyd Group Services Inc. (from 2023).

Veronica M. Downey earned their Bachelor's Degree in Criminology from Loyola University Chicago between 2002 and 2005. Later, between 2007 and 2010, they pursued an MBA at Roosevelt University.
