Russell Bloodworth, Jr.

Russell Bloodworth, Jr. is the Executive Vice President at Boyle Investment Company. As executive vice president, Bloodworth provides strategic direction to the Office Development Team, which oversees all large scale multiple-use projects.

Bloodworth has been with Boyle since 1968 and has been directly involved in the development of $300 million of office facilities (thirty-five major office facilities exceeding 3 million square feet) from pre-zoning through occupancy. He developed a collection of high-end neighborhoods in East Memphis, including the Gardens of River Oaks, The Cloisters, Chartwell, Blue Heron and Green Shadows. He directed the planning, zoning and development of seven major multiple-use projects in excess of 2,500 acres including Ridgeway Center, Regalia, Humphreys Center, Schilling Farms, Century Center, Spring Creek Ranch, and Meridian Cool Springs.

Bloodworth has an undergraduate degree in architecture from the University of Virginia. He studied Environmental Design at Yale University, was an American Scandinavian Foundation Fellow in Sweden, and a Knight Fellow at the University of Miami. Bloodworth's study of the Squares of Belgravia and Kensignton is a useful tool for developers and designers.

Bloodworth is past Chair of the Urban Land InstituteMemphis District, a member of Lambda Alpha Real Estate Fraternity, the Congress for the New Urbanism (CNU), he served on the Board of the Memphis Regional Design Center (MDRC) and is Co-Chair of Complete Streets Task Force. Previously, he has served on the Memphis Board of Realtors Environmental Committee, the Large Scale Development Council of the ULI, and was the Memphis Board of Realtors Planning and Zoning Committee Chairman. In 2009, Bloodworth was inducted into the Commercial Real Estate Hall of Fame by the Memphis Area Association of Realtors. in 2010, he received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Memphis Chapter of Lambda Alpha International.

Bloodworth has served on numerous municipal task forces on zoning, land use and the environment. He also has served as a Trustee for Memphis University School, Presbyterian Day School and the Hutchison School. He was Chairman of “Paint the Town Red” for City Beautiful and served on the Poplar Corridor Taskforce in the mid 1980s. He is a Director of Financial Federal Savings and Loan. Bloodworth was named Associate Realtor “Man of the Year” by the Memphis Board of Realtors, and Southern Living magazine also recognized him for his sensitivity to environmental issues. In 2009, he was inducted into the Commercial Real Estate Hall of Fame by the Memphis Area Association of Realtors (MAAR) Commercial Council. Also in 2009, he was selected for BusinessTN magazine’s annual list of the 101 most influential people in commercial real estate in Tennessee. In 2010, he received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Memphis Chapter of Lambda Alpha International.
