Amanda Ruckel

Senior National Director, Partnerships & Growth at Boys & Girls Clubs of America

Amanda Ruckel has a diverse work experience that spans across various organizations and roles. Amanda began their career as an intern at Berger Hirschberg Strategies in 2008. In 2009, they joined Teach for America as a Corps Member, where they served as a teacher in under-resourced public schools for two years. During their time at Teach for America, they also took on the role of Chairperson for the ESL Department.

In 2012, Amanda joined the International Rescue Committee as a Family Literacy Coordinator and Parent Coordinator Intern, where they developed workshops and curriculum for refugee parents transitioning to life in the U.S. Amanda then moved on to Concern Worldwide, where they held multiple roles, including Education Officer, Program Support Officer, Education Specialist, and Deputy Chief of Party. In these positions, they coordinated and implemented education programs, facilitated teacher training, and produced impact reports.

From 2016 to 2017, Amanda worked as an Area Program Manager at Danish Refugee Council, where they managed programs focused on refugee assistance. Following this, they returned to Concern Worldwide as an Education Program Manager, overseeing education initiatives and contributing to proposal development.

Most recently, Amanda joined the Boys & Girls Clubs of America in 2018. Amanda initially served as the Director of Youth Development Operations and later advanced to become the Senior Director and Senior National Director of Partnerships & Growth. In these roles, they led teams in identifying and developing partnerships with corporate and foundation partners, supported business development efforts, and collaborated with cross-functional teams to align projects with organizational priorities. Additionally, they managed reporting, budgeting, and communication of partnership priorities.

Amanda Ruckel holds a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in International Education Development, which they obtained from Teachers College, Columbia University, between 2011 and 2012. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in International Affairs at The University of Georgia from 2005 to 2009. Additionally, Amanda participated in a Semester in Washington- Politics program at The George Washington University in 2008. In terms of certifications, they became a Prosci® Certified Change Practitioner through Prosci in September 2022 and obtained a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute in September 2019.
